Hello Anon 208***,
I’m sorry that you’ve had to deal with theft (and shady business) from a hired attorney. Unfortunately (yet – perhaps – re-assuredly), you are not alone. A large percent of the attorneys that I’ve come across have engaged in similar malfeasance. Plus, I’ve witnessed attorneys do it to other people as well. It looks like our legal system provides a breeding ground for shady lawyering (so, it's up to us).
Well, to answer your question: I, unfortunately, do not know what rules will help you recover from the damages that you’ve suffered. Although my website is dedicated to helping pro se litigants, it is confined to the civil rights realm (ie, employment discrimination, housing discrimination, etc.)

Nonetheless, you might benefit from researching federal laws (as well as your state’s laws) on attorney malpractice. Some easy-to-use resources are online AI bots. Here are a couple that I know of [off the top of my head]:1
Paxton.AI
Perplexity.AI
iAsk.AI
Although the following might be a [very] long/painful shot, you might also get help from my detailed list of civil rights attorneys (free, no strings attached). Some of them might know attorney malpractice (as well as patent law). Plus, you can tap into my new free tool: UniApp 1.0 (a one-click application to request legal representation from hundreds of attorneys).
Well, I hope these things might be able to help you (note: I think Paxton.AI would be a great place to start).
Best Wishes
Sincerely,

1 I only know those AI bots because they often crawl through my website. I’ve used them a couple times (briefly); and I think they’re solid.
