Section 17.0401, F.S. Except as otherwise provided by this section, information relative to an investigation by the Chief Financial Officer pursuant to s. 17.04 is confidential and exempt from disclosure until the investigation is complete or ceases to be active, or if the Chief Financial Officer submits such information to a law enforcement or prosecutorial agency, until that agency’s investigation is complete or ceases to be active as that term is defined in the section. Section 17.076(5), F.S. All direct deposit records made prior to October 1, 1986, are exempt from s. 119.07(1). With respect to direct deposit records made on or after October 1, 1986, the names of the authorized financial institutions and the account numbers of the beneficiaries, as defined in the section, are confidential and exempt. Section 17.325(3), F.S. A caller on the governmental efficiency hotline established by the Chief Financial Officer under this section may remain anonymous, and, if the caller provides his or her name, the name is confidential.
