Section 717.117(8), F.S. Social security numbers and property identifiers contained in reports to the Department of Financial Services concerning unclaimed property are confidential and exempt. Section 717.1301(5), F.S. Material compiled by the Department of Financial Services in an investigation under the Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act is confidential until the investigation is complete; provided that such material remains confidential if it is submitted to another agency for investigation or prosecution and such investigation has not been completed or become inactive.
